Andrew Feldman of Cerebras revealed that major AI companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are placing orders for chips years in advance, leading to a $25 billion backlog for Cerebras. He characterized this demand as 'insatiable' and noted that companies are trying to capture 'yesterday's demand' due to the inability to build data centers and hardware fast enough.
“And the people who are buying the capacity, the Open AI's, Anthropic's, SpaceX AI, uh, the Googles, they are insatiable right now.”
“And so, you know, we have a $25 billion backlog.”
“All of these players are not chasing sort of if you build it, they will come. They're chasing the demand is booked. How do we keep them from leaving? And and that that's extremely unusual. It's very unusual.”
