Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras, stated that data centers being built for AI in the coming years will consume more power than was used globally in the previous 50 years. He noted that these centers are physical structures with 'enormity' and are being constructed across the US, Nordics, Europe, Middle East, and even in countries like Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
“what we're talking about now are data centers that are in the next several years going to use more power than the previous 50 years on Earth took.”
“We're talking about individual buildings. Uh, besides a football fields that have more power coming into them than mid-sized cities.”
“And they're being built, they're being built across the US. They're being built throughout the Nordics. They're being built here in Paris and throughout France and Europe and the Middle East.”
