Mel revealed that her husband, an automotive technician of 20 years, was fired after his employer was taken over by a massive corporation and denied their request for unpaid time off for a trip to Japan. Mel noted that the corporate rigidity ultimately did them a favor by pushing him to leave.
“TLDR, he got fired because we're going to Japan. And that is okay. We're okay. I don't care.”
“And he had worked there for 20 years. So they really don't care. A company will toss you out in a second.”
