Reddit revealed in its shareholder letter that search referral traffic dropped by more than 1 million referrals per week in October due to scraped Google AI overviews, driving the platform to mandate logged-in experiences.
“During October, search traffic has dropped by more than 1 million referrals on average per week.”
“The biggest impact was on logged out and web traffic. These declines have continued in the early part of Q4.”
