Scott Ramsauer discussed the growth of the private equity program at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas since he joined 16 years ago. He stated that the team has expanded from 6 to 27 investment professionals, with net asset value growing from approximately $7 billion to $33 billion.
“I've been at TRS, or Texas Teachers, for 16 and a half years. I focus exclusively on private equity. When I joined the private equity portfolio was six people, seven billion of NAV approximately. Fast forward over 16 years later, we're now 27 investment professionals on the private equity team. about $33 billion in NAV and private equity.”
