Microsoft reported a revenue increase of 19% year over year and disclosed its Azure cloud business revenue for the first time, revealing 48% growth. According to Gil Luria, the company delivered a clean beat and raise while maintaining positive free cash flow, setting it apart from competitors like Amazon, Google, and Meta.
“Microsoft and Google both reported earnings yesterday, but investors had very different reactions to the results. Microsoft beat expectations with revenue up 19% year over year. The company also disclosed Azure revenue in its earnings statement for the first time, revealing that its cloud business grew 48% from a year earlier.”
“So not only was the Azure business great, it accelerated from 43% to 48%. This is $120 billion plus business. Those are tremendous growth rates at better margins.”
