Reddit Uses Custom MCPs to Map Design Systems Directly to Production Code

To bridge the gap between design and engineering, Reddit created a custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) that maps Figma design tokens, button sizes, and components directly to production code and GitHub. This allows AI tools like Cursor to generate production-ready code based on design inputs and automated feedback.

“Well, the team. We're going with our team. ... That's right. Yeah, so right here we got it hooked up, this Proto MCP Ultra, and it's basically like looking for... What are you feeding it? And and then it's finding tokens, components, and examples to write that prod-shaped code.”
