Reddit principal UX engineer Blair Metcalf discussed 'Reddit Proto,' a custom prototyping harness built specifically for product managers and designers to rapidly test ideas. The tool obfuscates Git and file structures, offering a desktop app that allows non-technical team members to spin up production-like prototypes complete with real signed-in data.
“Today I have Blair Metcalf, principal UX engineer at Reddit, and he's gonna show us Reddit Proto, their custom harness for product managers, designers, and anyone else.”
“When we started working with designers, we wanted to start obfuscating all of Git, what the file structure is. And so we actually made an app on your desktop that just gets you right into a new project.”
