Tim described the '123 Boom' activity in Melbourne, Australia, an immersive experience where participants physically engage in video game-like challenges, including navigating laser grids and a 'floor is lava' game, culminating in a bomb defusal that resulted in a liquid 'explosion'.
“It's this thing where you are kind of like a player in a video game but like physically in the video game. So you go from like room to room where there's different, um, games that you play and and they get increasingly physical as you go from one room to the next.”
“But then the next I don't remember exactly what the next room was. But it was like, yeah. So there's a room where you have to there's lasers, laser beams that go across the room in different patterns and you have to be able to cross the room without interrupting the lasers and have to do it like 100. I mean, it was a lot of times. Yes, we did. It's like, oh, no, we do it again and again and again.”
“The final level was to defuse a bomb. And so you had to do some things to defuse the bomb. And if you don't defuse the bomb, then the bomb goes off. And in this case, it wasn't a bomb going off on a screen. It was actually some physical things that shot different colored liquid at us.”
