Victor Haghani advised that investors should pay very little attention to the news, recommending a focus on sensible, long-term investing strategies. He emphasized that while staying informed about world events is important for being a good citizen, it is largely irrelevant for investment decisions.
“In terms of investing, very little. In terms of human experience... In terms of our life as humans, I think it's important to know what's going on in the world, to be good citizens and all of that. But I think as an investor, Kind of close to zero.”
“I think as an investor, you just don't need to be following the news very much at all. I think that a sensible long-term investing strategy, even if it's a dynamic asset allocation variety, just doesn't really need to follow the news very much at all.”
