Unlike competitors such as Meta's Muse, OpenAI's newly announced 'Dots' AI agents will initially be available only to paid subscribers, including Pro and Business users. This is likely due to the high compute costs associated with running such intensive AI products.
“What is the most interesting part of it though? To me, is that although this is directly, um, aimed at, you know, gaining users away from Meta's Muse, it's only rolling out to paid users. Pro and business users. So it's not free for everyone. Like Muse is.”
“And so I think that's kind of a, an interesting hallmark here. The fact that, you know, OpenAI is desperately wants to compete with Meta on this, but they can't afford to, uh, fully because it's such a compute intensive product.”
