During testing, Meta's AI agent Muse, nicknamed 'The Terminator,' requested increasingly sensitive data, including access to credit cards, calendars, and Gmail. While this access enabled useful task completion, it also raised concerns about privacy and the AI's potential for mistakes and unintended consequences.
“First, it was like, give me your credit card. And then it was like, give me access to your calendar. And then it was like, maybe you should connect your Gmail.”
“And then it wanted more access to Nicole's other accounts. And asked if I could connect my Google Calendar account to add the events to my calendar.”
“Because it's going to make mistakes. It's going to have bugs. It's going to be hackable. And we're going to have to deal with the consequences.”
